We’ve come to the final section of our Vision Spotlight series! Over the past couple of months, we took a deep dive into each area of the 10-year plan the Lord gave our partner*: No Village Left (the vision to see a healthy ch*rch in every village of Northern India by 2033), ch*rch planting training, Global and Christmas Outreach campaigns, Disciple Maker School, and the school. Today, we highlight the homes for orphaned boys and girls.
In November 2012, our partner opened the boys home with 11 boys. When the facility reached capacity – it only had eight small rooms, six toilets and no room to expand – the ministry began building a new home in 2021. Now, it’s home to 95 boys. Similarly, in November 2015, our partner opened the girls’ home (six rooms and a bathroom) with 17 girls, and now it’s home to 42 girls.
“We praise the Lord for the blessing of these children!” said our partner. “Our main focus is spreading the Good News and planting ch*rches, but we are also called to take care of orphans and widows. As Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me’ (Matt. 19:14). ”
These children are being transformed from street kids with little to no hope, to having their physical, emotional and spiritual needs met. The ministry is raising up first generation Chr*stians who know and love the Lord. They’ve become prayer warriors, beginning each day at 5 a.m. with an hour of prayer. Because of God’s goodness and this ministry, these kids’ dreams of becoming missionaries, pastors, engineers and doctors are possible! Our partner. expects to raise these children through their school years, and hopes to send them on to college so they’ll be able to support themselves.
“Our vision is to educate and equip 1,000 orphans to lead the nation based on Chr*stian principles,” said our partner.
Construction of additional floors at the homes continues. Our partner. anticipates completing the expansion of the girls’ home (plumbing, painting, beds, fans, lights remain) in a month or so. Workers are putting the third floor roof on the boys’ home, and it should be finished in another three to four months. At that point, the two homes will be able to serve a total of 200 orphaned boys and girls (up from 137 now).
